I Hope I'm Pleasantly Surprised...

Yeah, I saw plenty of "Verucas" in the store when we went in June. The girls has no idea we were surprising them with picking one out (since we weren't going on a family vacation). But that's all they got, one doll. Ash got Bitty Twins and Soph got a Bitty baby for Christmas. But I skipped the expensive cheap plastic crib and got her a nice wood one for a third of the price from Target instead.
I'm anxious to hear all about it. Lily has a My Twinn doll but I wouldn't spend that kind of money more than once.
Nathan's had a friend over a lot this week...she's nuts about that stuff. I learned more about American Girl, Bratz, Hannah Montana, High School Musical (I think that's when I stopped listening) than I ever wanted to know...Ev. er. And the screaming..did I mention the screaming?

Good luck! I'm glad it's you and not me.
That works, to do it in place of a vacation. Yeah, I've been kind of annoyed at how some of the stuff Bailey has hasn't held up. She's got a Kirsten doll that Brian's mom got her a few Christmases ago, and for the next several bdays & Christmases she got ALL of Kirsten's accessories. (I don't think any pioneer girl ever had that much stuff!!) It was a pretty generous gift.
I think having to earn part of it herself will really help Bailey treasure it more.

Haha....American Girls are wonderful compared to those hoochie Bratz. (I've outlawed them in my house.)

Girls are definitely a different breed.

Oh man! I'm voting on #1 as well. Great job to Bailey for being industrious enough to earn her keep. Excellent.
They're going to be required to be in bed by 9, so I'll have that going for me at least. And I found out that the friends have their own money to spend...so if everyone goes home with something, it should go well, right? (That includes me, because I can't go to the Mall of America w/o a stop at the Nordstrom's outlet!)
We've been to the American Girl store in Chicago many times and I've never seen any spoiled behaviour, no "I want that!" from any of the many, many little girls milling around. I don't mind spending money on American Girl stuff because I know that unlike much of the cheap plastic crap that will go to Goodwill in 6 months time, this is stuff that Libby will keep for her own girls.
It turned out to be an enjoyable time.
