Not because I feel the need to whine today, but just simply because I like to say "gastrocnemius." The "c" is not silent - it kind of sounds like you choke in the middle of the word. It's unique.
Anyway. I ran outside this weekend for the first time and I must have overdone it. I'm not sure exactly how, but whatever I did I have matching pain in both legs in the same place. That's unique too.
Here's my other Me and My Monday entry:
Metromint water. It's so yummy!
I'm a day late for Me and My Monday, but my dad asked me this weekend why I never talk about my parents in my blog. So while I unfortunately am about earlobe-deep in homework and can't actually write anything right now, I am going to give my parents a shout out....and show off my new niece Maria at the same time. These photos are from her dedication service on Sunday. (FYI if you don't know, a baby dedication is similar to a baptism except there's no water. It's where the parents [and often the grandparents too] pledge in front of God and the congregation to raise the child up in a Christian home and to encourage him/her to choose a walk with Christ when he/she is old enough to know.)
Hi Dad!
I promised I'd post a picture when my hair did something I liked, and I think this is about as close as I'm going to get. I actually do kind of like it.
Here's a little more detail. As you can see, I'm not one of those "every hair in place" types. Even if I wanted to be, my hair would never go along with it...so when you can't beat 'em, join 'em.
I could also call this "Me and My Backyard" or "Me and My Big Blue Necklace" or "Me and My Relaxation" but I think I'll stick with the first topic.
This was going to be a "Me and My Monday" post but then I realized that I'm not in the picture I took. Duh. And I have no other ideas. So instead I'll just show the picture:
If you can't tell, this is my Outlook calendar. And look! It's telling you that I have four days of vacation starting tomorrow! There will be plenty of homework being done, but there will be fun stuff too - like a designated shopping morning (I'm not sure which day yet but it will be just me, maybe a friend of mine...but more importantly, no husband or kids that I'll have to listen to whine. Can we go home? I'm tired! I'm hungry! Aren't you done yet? Just pick something! Why do you have to try it on? Try it on at home! Whine, whine, whine.
We're also going to a baseball game on Wednesday. Minor league - very minor league - but still fun. It's Blood Donor night so I got us some free tickets. Can't beat that!
Right now, though, I think I need to get a good night's sleep. Can't have a great week off if I'm tired! Later.
This is my debut post to the "Me and My Monday" group.
This is me and my junior gardener, aka my son Joey. I wish I could say that he's helping me garden out of the sheer joy of getting into the dirt and beautifying our yard - or in this case because of the promise of delicious dishes later this summer - but not really. He's doing it to earn money to buy his next Webkinz.
(I could've also titled this post "Me and My New Haircolor" but I didn't think that would be that interesting, especially given that it's not drastic enough for anyone who doesn't see me every day to notice.)
Even though Joey pretended to be all about the money, I think he secretly enjoyed labeling my herb pots.
I painted the bottom parts of each pot with chalkboard paint. Fun, huh? It's hard to see, but in addition to writing the name of each herb, he also drew a picture of each. Being a realist, he looked at the picture on the front of each seed packet so that his drawings would look like the actual plant. He's so my kid.
